The Protekt™ 500 with VGPT™ Visco Gel Polymer Technology is a revolutionary support surface designed to provide unprecedented pressure redistribution, rapid heat dissipation, and enhanced breathability compared to traditional foam. VGPT™ is open-cell Visco Memory foam infused with gel polymers, engineered for clinical superiority and patient comfort.

This advanced technology allows air to pass through open cells, channeling it away from the body instead of trapping it within the closed cells of standard memory foam. The infusion of gel polymers throughout the foam not only provides cooling properties but also virtually eliminates static fatigue. As a result, the Protekt™ 500 holds its shape better, redistributes pressure over a larger surface area, and successfully channels heat away from the body, keeping patients cool, dry, and comfortable.

The heel section of the Protekt™ 500 is specifically designed to guard the vulnerable heel area from incapacitating reoccurring pressure ulcers. Utilizing a 30-degree slope, it redistributes pressure to the entire lower leg. The top layer is finished with Lura-Quilt™, a patented, highly resilient aerated foam, keeping skin cool and dry.
